Why We Like It
Chef Nando Chang’s latest iteration of Itamae is a jewel box of a restaurant full of natural wood and familial vibes (it is next to the family restaurant, Maty’s, after all). Sit in one of the 10 counter seats for an omakase menu featuring Japanese-Peruvian creations, from sashimi and nigiri to anticuchos and aguadito. On display: the dry-aging lockers full of fish, and the chefs who carefully prepare it to a very hip soundtrack.
