Enrique Olvera brings his Cosme and ATLA magic to the Arts District with this mostly outdoor stunner. Draped in greenery, the restaurant has as much California sensibility as it does Mexico City soul, where Japanese and Korean influences meld with farmers market produce and Mexican traditions. And in true West Coast fashion, the no-waste beverage program means sipping margaritas with a clean (living) conscience.
From a bright orange sashimi food truck to a haven for smoky wood-grilled dishes, this Arts District spot from lauded London chef Junya Yamasaki fits right in with the buzzing neighborhood. Order something from the ever-changing menu, grab a drink, and then expect to order at least another round.
N/Soto is a study in contrasts, all at once intimate and relaxing, but also boisterous and fun, too. The innovative menu of izakaya-inspired Japanese cuisine is meant to be shared, so bring a crew. Pro tip: Don't sleep on the low-ABV cocktails which draw inspiration from global cocktail cultures, but also fuse them together with Japanese ingredients.
It’s impossible to understate the devotion fans have for this restaurant, whether it was the strip-mall original, the pop-up, and even the two long years Baroo didn’t exist. This latest iteration is a rebirth of Kwang Uh and Mina Park’s vision of fermentation-driven Korean cuisine. The Arts District space is sleek and spacious, and the tasting menus (what you’re here for) are exquisite.
It’s hard not to like a restaurant whose food is designed to “facilitate drinking and fun-having amongst friends” (chef Kris Yenbamroong’s words, not ours). Night+Market’s original location is fun and rambunctious, and every item on the menu is a delight.
